Spring Replacement

Spring Replacement

Springs are the hardest-working component on your garage door - they counter the full weight of the door every single time it moves. When a spring fails, the door becomes inoperable and dangerous. Triple B offers two spring replacement tiers for 16x7 standard doors - both created to be straightforward, easy to understand, and cost-effective.

Standard Springs
$350
20,000-cycle springs
Includes all parts, labor & tax
3-yr parts warranty · 1-yr labor warranty
Both tiers include: Both springs replaced 30-point safety inspection Parts, labor & tax included

Standard vs. High-Cycle - Which Should You Choose?

The $75 difference between tiers comes down to how long you want to go before the next replacement. Our 20,000 cycle springs are rated for roughly 7-10 years at an average use 6-8 times per day. High-cycle 80,000-cycle springs are rated 4× longer and carry a lifetime parts warranty - meaning if the spring fails at any point, the part is covered.

In Maricopa County, where summer heat regularly exceeds 110°F and accelerates metal fatigue, Triple B recommends the high-cycle option for virtually every home. The $75 upgrade pays for itself many times over compared to replacing standard springs every 5–8 years in Arizona conditions.

💡 Both Springs Always Replaced Together Triple B replaces both springs on every job regardless of which one broke. Springs are installed simultaneously and wear at the same rate - when one fails, the other is close behind. Replacing both at once is safer, more balanced, and saves you from paying for the same repair twice in quick succession.
⚠️ Never DIY a Spring Replacement Torsion springs are wound under hundreds of pounds of tension. A slip with an improper tool can cause severe injury. Triple B technicians use professional tools and proper safety protocol on every job - the cost of professional replacement is a fraction of an ER visit.
🚪 Heavier Door? We've Got You Covered. The pricing above applies to standard 16×7 doors. For heavier doors - including wood, oversized, and steel back doors - Triple B installs the same 80,000-cycle lifetime springs at $525 total. Same lifetime parts warranty, same 5-year labor warranty, sized correctly for the additional weight.

Jumped Cable Repair

Jumped Cable Repair

Lift cables connect the springs to the door and keep tension even across both sides. Sometimes called a "hung door," a cable that has jumped off its drum causes the door to hang crooked, move erratically, or fall completely off its tracks. Cable repair pricing varies by severity - a jumped cable can be straightforward, but a door where more than a couple of rollers have left the track presents further complication. The $215–$295 range covers the repair in most cases; pricing will only exceed $295 if a panel or part needs to be replaced.

Includes: Rehanging & balancing door 30-point safety inspection
ScenarioPriceNotes
Cable off drum - no rollers out of track$215Straightforward repair
1–2 rollers out of track, door fully accessible$215–$245Reseat cable, put rollers back in track, balance door
2+ rollers out of track, or door inaccessible$245–$295Door hanging or full garage requires multiple positions to reseat - increased complexity and technician risk
⚠️ Stop Using the Door Immediately A door with a broken or jumped cable is unbalanced and can fall suddenly if the opener is run. Do not operate the door until the cable is repaired. Call Triple B at 480-489-5799 for same-day service.

Torsion Conversion

Torsion Conversion

Many homes in Maricopa County are built with Wayne Dalton's TorqueMaster spring system installed - springs that are located inside the spring shaft instead of traditional springs that are mounted visibly above the center of the door. The TorqueMaster springs are limited in life by the space inside the shaft, and max out at 8–10,000 uses - plus Wayne Dalton only gives a 1-year warranty with the installation. A Torsion Conversion to standard springs converts the old TorqueMaster tube to a modern spring system with our same high quality, 80,000-cycle springs, along with premium hardware sourced from American suppliers.

Torsion Conversion includes: 80,000-cycle springs New hardware, nuts & bolts 30-point safety inspection Parts, labor & tax included

Is a Torsion Conversion Worth It?

For most Maricopa County homes still running TorqueMaster springs, yes - and here's the math. A standard TorqueMaster spring repair costs $500–$800 and will need to be replaced again in just a few years. The $725 Torsion Conversion includes 80,000-cycle springs with a lifetime parts warranty, is significantly less expensive when a spring eventually breaks, and operates more smoothly and quietly than an internal spring system.

If you're already paying for a cable repair on an extension system, Triple B can walk you through the conversion cost comparison on-site so you can make an informed decision. No pressure - just honest numbers.

Roller Replacement

Roller Replacement

Standard plastic bushing rollers grow brittle with time and begin to crack, chip, or even shatter completely. Old style steel rollers wear out and develop flat spots; when they do, they create grinding, scraping, and vibration that puts extra stress on your opener motor and door hardware. Triple B replaces all rollers with premium sealed-bearing nylon rollers - quieter, longer-lasting, and gentler on tracks than steel. And we back that up with a true lifetime roller warranty.

Includes: 10 premium nylon rollers (6200ZZ sealed bearing) Full door servicing Full opener servicing 30-point safety inspection Parts, labor & tax included

The 6200ZZ sealed bearing rollers Triple B installs are commercial-grade - fully sealed to keep out the Arizona dust and grit that kills standard rollers. They operate significantly quieter than steel and won't leave marks on tracks. This is also an easy add-on to bundle with a spring or cable service visit to maximize value from a single trip.

Tune-Up & Maintenance

Tune-Up & Maintenance

A tune-up is the least expensive thing you can do to prevent the most expensive repairs. Springs, cables, rollers, and opener components all show wear patterns before they fail - a trained eye catches them early. Triple B's tune-up includes a full 30-point safety inspection, door and opener servicing, and an honest written report. No high-pressure upsell. Ever.

💡 How Often Should You Schedule a Tune-Up? For doors used 1–4 times per day, Triple B recommends service every other year. If your door sees heavier use, annual service is the better call. We also recommend scheduling a tune-up any time you've been away from home for an extended stretch - for example, snowbirds who leave every summer should plan a service visit when they return. A door that's been sitting unused in Arizona heat for weeks can surprise you, and catching wear early is always less expensive than an emergency call.

ℹ️ Which Opener Is Right for You? If you have a standard single or double-car door in an attached garage, the LiftMaster 6580L at $850 is the most popular choice Triple B installs - quieter than chain drive, 1 HP handles most residential doors, and includes an exterior keypad entry for easy access. The 6690L is the right call for heavier doors, high-frequency use, or if you just love the assurance of that lifetime motor and belt warranty. Not sure? Call and we'll help you match the right unit to your needs.

Door Installation

Door Installation

Triple B installs both single-car and double-car garage doors across all of Maricopa County. Pricing below reflects standard residential installations and depends on the door size, material, and insulation level - from standard steel entry-level options up to high-end insulated steel with a 2" polyurethane core. All installations include removal of the old door, full hardware installation, and our standard door and opener servicing.

Single Car
Standard 8×7 Door
Starting at (non-insulated)$1,000
Most installs average$1,600
High-end (2" Polyurethane with 18R-Value)$2,000+

What Determines Your Door Price

The biggest variable in standard door pricing is insulation level. A non-insulated steel door is the most affordable option - and a reasonable choice for a detached workshop or storage garage. For an attached garage in Maricopa County, though, insulation matters a great deal. An uninsulated garage can reach 140–150°F on a Phoenix summer afternoon, pushing significant heat into adjacent rooms and increasing your cooling costs noticeably.

Triple B installs Midland Garage Doors, manufactured in Fargo, ND. We chose Midland specifically for their high quality of product and manufacturing, and for their exceptional customer service - the kind of supplier relationship that matters when you need a part or have a warranty question years down the road.

Triple B carries doors across the full range from entry-level steel to high-performance insulated steel with a 2" polyurethane core and an 18R-value - the highest insulation value available in residential garage doors. The premium over a basic door typically pays back through lower utility bills within a few Arizona summers.

Spring Upgrade at Time of Install

Every new door installation is a natural opportunity to upgrade your spring system before it ever becomes a problem. Triple B offers our same lifetime 80,000-cycle springs as an add-on at the time of door installation - at a significantly reduced rate compared to a standalone spring replacement later.

Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ
Are Triple B's prices all-inclusive - no hidden fees?
Yes. Every price on this page includes parts, labor, and tax. What you see is what you pay. Triple B also services both the door and opener and performs a 30-point safety inspection on every job at no additional charge.
How much does spring replacement cost at Triple B?
$350 for 20,000-cycle springs (3-year parts warranty, 1-year labor warranty) or $425 for high-cycle 80,000-cycle springs (lifetime parts warranty, 5-year labor warranty). Both prices are all-inclusive and both springs are always replaced together.
Why does Triple B recommend high-cycle springs?
Arizona's extreme heat accelerates metal fatigue faster than national averages assume. For just $425, our 80,000-cycle upgrade comes with a lifetime parts warranty and is rated to last 8× longer than the industry's 'standard' 10,000 cycle springs. In Arizona's conditions, it's nearly always the better long-term value - and let's be honest, we use our garage doors a lot more now than we used to - with some doors getting opened 20 or more times in a typical day.
What does a torsion conversion include and cost?
Triple B's Torsion Conversion is $725 total and includes every component of the new system: 80,000-cycle springs, torsion tube, drums, bearing plates, and new cables. It comes with a lifetime parts warranty and 5-year labor warranty. It's a complete spring system replacement - not a partial upgrade.
Which opener does Triple B recommend?
For most attached residential garages in Maricopa County, the LiftMaster 6580L at $850 is Triple B's most commonly installed unit. It's a 1 HP belt drive - quieter than chain, plenty of power for standard doors, and includes two remotes and keypad entry. Heavier doors or high-use applications call for the 6690L at $1,045.
How much does jumped cable repair cost?
Jumped cable repair at Triple B runs $215–$295, depending on severity. A cable off its drum with no rollers out of track is the simplest scenario at $215. One to two rollers out of track runs $215–$245. Two or more rollers out, or a door that's inaccessible and requires multiple positions to reseat, runs $245–$295 - these jobs carry increased complexity and technician risk. Pricing only exceeds $295 if a panel or part needs to be replaced. For simplicity, we typically start the quote at $295 and the service tech makes the call on-site once the full picture is clear.
What is Triple B's service call price, and will I be pressured to spend more?
A full service is $125 for one door and $60 per additional door - no, you will not be pressured. Triple B's service call is priced a little higher than the industry average, and that's by design. We want to be able to show up, do the job right, and give you an honest service without needing to sell you something to make the visit worth our while. You'll get a fully functional garage door, a clear report of the system health, and a straightforward recommendation if further work is needed.
Does Triple B charge an emergency fee, and how much is it?
Yes - $150 is added to the cost of the repair for emergency and after-hours calls, depending on location within Maricopa County. This is communicated upfront before any work begins. There are no other hidden charges or surprise line items.
What does Triple B's 30-point safety inspection cover?
Every door Triple B services receives a full 30-point inspection covering springs, cables, drums, rollers, tracks, hinges, hardware, opener force and speed settings, auto-reverse safety test, sensor alignment, lubrication of all moving parts, balance test, and a written technician report. It is included at no charge on every job.
