What Do You Do When the Most Important Part Of Your Garage Door Breaks?
No, we’re not talking about the motor; we’re talking about your garage door springs. These tightly wound coils of reinforced metal contain hundreds of pounds of kinetic energy at any time, counterbalancing the staggering weight of your garage door as it lifts and closes. So you can imagine what happens when these vital load-bearing components fail; damage to property, injury to bystanders and in worst case scenarios even death.
That’s why buying high-quality garage door springs, installed by qualified professionals, with the proper tools, is so important. At Triple B we have years of experience installing and repairing garage doors across the entire East Valley of Arizona, and safety is always our first concern when it comes to our valued customers.
Alongside the attention to detail, and great customer service we bring to every job; we also bring a range of unmatched products to satisfy the high standards of our clients.
At Triple B Garage Doors, we provide a lifetime parts warranty and five year labor warranty with every residential replacement, and the springs we install are rated for 40-80,000 cycles.
No matter how hefty your garage door is, our garage door springs can provide great service for multiple years without a hitch
Garage Door Spring Products
Torsion Springs
Also known as torque springs, these are usually installed horizontally just above the header of your garage door. The number of springs used depends upon the size and weight of your door.
These tight springs (appropriately) use torque to lift and close doors with the help of attached cables and wheels. Generally, these springs will give you a life-cycle of 10-15,000 garage door operations (around 5-10 years depending on frequency of use)
There are a few different types of torsion spring including:
- Standard torsion spring (residential)
- Standard torsion spring (commercial)
- Early (EZ) set torsion spring (residential)
- Steel rolling door torsion spring (commercial)
- Wayne Dalton Torque Master torsion system (replacement requires converting to a standard spring system)
Extension Springs
Although these springs use a similar pulley/cable system to do their heavy lifting; they’re located on the sides of the overhead runner tracks your garage door disappears into. They tend to be exposed, so you can easily spot them next time you use your garage door.
Unlike torque springs, these garage door springs will stretch as the door is lifted open, counterbalancing the force of the door. The more force is applied, the further they will extend.
Cables tied to overhead supports are added through the springs to prevent them flying off in rare case of breakage.
Types of extension spring include:
- Open looped extension spring: Easy to replace, supported by an open wire.
- Double looped extension spring: Stronger springs, supported by coils connected to the pulley and eyebolt
- Clipped ends extension spring: Most durable option, clipped ends provide added support for heavier garage doors.
Garage Door Springs Available Across: Mesa, Queen Creek, Chandler, and Gilbert Arizona.
